Inverness Research has played an important role in helping us document and share our work. Their researchers have written reflective reports that help us communicate to others the nature and value of the work we are doing – to the monks, to the scientists, and to the Western educators who become involved. Groundtruthing involves Inverness Research helping us to clearly conceptualize and articulate our theory of how we plan to optimize the investments made in the program. With this as a guide, Inverness then goes into the field, conducting interviews, site visits, and focus groups to assess the actual realities of the work on the ground as well as the essential features of the context(s) which are shaping that work. Their researchers help us gain insight into the strengths and weaknesses of our design and implementation efforts. Further, these field reports document the monks and nuns, who they are, and their vision for their community.
