Maker Week with Loseling School

(February 10 to 18, 2020)

The Loseling Science and Meditation Center organized a one-week maker workshop open house that saw participation from 70 monk school students from the Loseling School and 20 nuns from Jangchup Choeling Nunnery. Five Loseling monks (Thupten Sherab, Tsewang Norbu, Thupten Ngodup, Rinchen Namgyal, Tenzing Ngodup) worked with Dr. Bryce Johnson to host the visiting monastics in a series of activities that allowed each participant to build small projects that explore different phenomena. The participants learned and explored science through making small devices such as speakers, rockets, cars, vacuum cleaners, helicopters, and other models they imagined and then made with simple materials available.
