Nuns Science Leadership – Launch of 1st Leadership Cohort

(September 3 to 20, 2019)

We proudly launched our first cohort of nuns science leaders! The inaugural institute (September 3 to 20) saw participation from 33 nuns from 5 different nunneries (Dolmaling, Geden Choeling, Jamyang Choeling, Jamseling, Janchup Choeling). Each of these nunneries will be establishing and growing science education programs and working towards the establishment of a small science center. These centers will be developed through the Sager Science Center. This first cohort will be trained and supported to implement a range of science leadership activities that engage their community in science and grow the conversation between science and Buddhism in the nunneries. They will be supported in bi-annual workshops and group projects that they complete through their graduation from the program in August, 2022.
